Doris Tammy Kreeh carries the first names of her Greek and American grandmothers. She was born in Essen, Germany, where she still lives today with her partner, and she remains deeply connected to the Ruhr region.
In her novels, she is especially fascinated by what happens between two people: closeness and distance, similarities and differences—and those feelings that sometimes stubbornly refuse to listen to reason.
She has a particular passion for love stories in which an encounter doesn’t simply end just because two people initially go their separate ways. Perhaps that’s because life itself sometimes needs a second encounter: her own love story with her partner also found its safe harbor only the second time around.
When she isn’t writing, Doris Tammy Kreeh works as a pediatrician in research focusing on chronic diseases in children and adolescents. And when she is neither writing nor researching, you might find her baking a cake—or riding her motorcycle.
